Update and uninstall
Bica has no built-in updater. You update it by replacing the bica file with a newer one, and you remove it by deleting that file and the ~/.bica folder.
Update
Section titled “Update”-
Stop Bica: press
qin its terminal. -
Download the new version over the old one:
Terminal window url=https://github.com/cyrillbrito/bica/releases/latest/downloadcurl -fsSL $url/bica-darwin-arm64.tar.gz | tar -xz -C ~/.local/binTerminal window url=https://github.com/cyrillbrito/bica/releases/latest/downloadcurl -fsSL $url/bica-linux-x64.tar.gz | tar -xz -C ~/.local/binUse the file for your machine, as in Install.
-
Start it again with
bica. -
Reload every open Bica tab and installed app, so each one gets the new version of the page.
Your sessions, projects, and sign-ins stay as they were, and runs that were going when you stopped Bica continue.
Back up
Section titled “Back up”Everything Bica keeps is in ~/.bica: your sessions, projects, settings, and sign-ins in ~/.bica/data, and your own AGENTS.md, skills, and chat folders next to it. To back it up, stop Bica and copy ~/.bica somewhere safe. Your repos and their worktrees aren’t in it; they stay where they are on your disk.
If you set BICA_DATA_DIR, copy that folder too. The data folder lists every file.
Uninstall
Section titled “Uninstall”-
Stop Bica, and delete the binary:
Terminal window rm ~/.local/bin/bica -
If you set up Tailscale, remove Bica’s address:
Terminal window tailscale serve --https=3141 off -
Delete the data, once you’ve saved anything you want from it, such as your
AGENTS.md, your skills, or files the agents wrote in chats:Terminal window rm -rf ~/.bica
Worktrees that Bica made sit in folders next to their projects, and uninstalling leaves them alone. Remove the ones you no longer need from Bica first, or with git worktree remove.
